What Premium doesn’t do
- The companion has no memory across devices. Each conversation is kept on the device you use, and the transcript is not stored on our servers.
- AI text is written from activity you have recorded, never from your bank statements themselves.
- Every plan keeps the written, non-AI version of check-ins, reflections and reviews.
Common questions
Is the free plan actually useful, or a teaser?
It is the whole harm-reduction toolkit: upload a statement or add records by hand, see what gambling costs you, set money rules, take a voluntary cooling-off, plan and review your week, take lessons, add an accountability partner, and try the companion for 10 messages. None of it moves behind payment.
What does Premium cost?
A$11.99 a month, or A$79 a year. If you subscribe on or before 31 December 2026 it is A$5 a month instead, for as long as the subscription runs without a break; if you cancel and come back later, the price then current applies. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Payments are handled by Stripe, by card, and we never see or store your card details.
Does the beta change the price?
No. Betterself is in open beta, and Premium is a paid subscription during the beta and after it. The core stays free either way.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free plan has no time limit and asks for no card. Premium is billed when you subscribe and renews monthly or yearly until you cancel, which you can do any time from Settings. If you change your mind, contact us within 14 days of your most recent payment and we refund it in full, no reason needed.
Will you ever charge for safety features?
No. Money rules, the cooling-off, crisis support and helplines, and seeing what gambling costs you will always be free — that is in our Terms. Premium is for the companion and guidance written from your own numbers, never for safety.
