Betterself reads a PDF or bank statement you upload — on your own device, so only the gambling transactions you review reach us — or lets you add transactions by hand. It then shows clear spending data, weekly limits, daily check-ins and support resources in one private place.
Is my bank account information safe?
Betterself does not connect to your bank at launch. Your statement is parsed on your own device and only the gambling transactions you review are uploaded; everything else stays with you. Stored data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Does Betterself work with my bank?
Betterself accepts supported PDF and statement exports. If a file format is not recognised, you can still add transactions by hand.
Will Betterself judge me?
Never. Betterself is built on a simple belief: awareness leads to change, and change happens at your own pace. Our AI coach is trained to be compassionate, non-judgmental, and focused on progress — not perfection. You're here because you want to do better, and that already says everything.
Is it really free?
Yes. Betterself is free during beta — every feature, no credit card, no countdown. We'll be honest with you well before that ever changes. For now, we're focused on building something that actually helps, and crisis support, safety rules, and spending limits will never sit behind a paywall.
Can I delete my data anytime?
Yes. You can permanently delete your account and all its data from within the app at any time — and disconnect a bank, once that feature exists. No forms. No waiting periods. Your data, your control.
